Program Information and FAQ

The Arkansas State Board of Education gave final approval on March 11, 2021, for LISA Academy to open a new school, LISA Academy Arkansas Hybrid School, for the fall of 2021, serving grades K - 12. This school will NOT replace the virtual learning option that will be available on all current LISA Academy campuses next year.

The LISA Academy Arkansas Hybrid School will incorporate a combination of virtual instruction and onsite intervention/enrichment.  Students’ academic instruction will be provided using a nationally recognized online curriculum, supported by LISA Academy teachers and administration. Students enrolled in this school will be required to attend onsite for approximately a half-day at least every other week at either the 21 Corporate Hill Drive, Little Rock, or the 301 Holcomb Street, Springdale, campus for interaction with hybrid school programs and activities. The onsite component will include intervention/enrichment in core subjects as well as the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities, such as clubs and sports. In addition, students will attend onsite for required testing several times each year.  Students will be equipped with all needed educational technology and materials.

For general questions you may call 501-451-4200.

Q - How often will students have to attend onsite at a Learning Center and what will that involve?

A - Students will be required to spend approximately one half-day at a Learning Center every other week for academic intervention and enrichment, and to meet face-to-face with teachers. Additionally, students will be required to attend onsite for required testing 3-4 times per year. Students will be encouraged to attend more frequently and to participate in extracurricular clubs and other activities on campus.

Q - What are the residency requirements for attending the school?

A -The only residency requirement for enrollment in the school is proof of Arkansas residency.

Q - How much does it cost to attend?

A -As public charter schools, LISA Academy schools do not charge any tuition for attending.

Q - Are students required to take admission tests to be admitted?

A - There is no testing required to qualify for attendance. LISA Academy Schools are open enrollment public charter schools, and as such allow any student to attend as long as they are Arkansas residents.  If the number of applicants exceeds the number of slots available, a random lottery is used to select students who will be offered admission.

Q - Will students be allowed to participate in sports and extracurricular activities?

A - Students enrolled in the hybrid school will be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities that are available at the Learning Center, along with onsite students.

Q - Can current  LISA Academy students attend the new Hybrid School?
A - Current LISA Academy students will have three options for the 2021-22 school year:
  • Continue full on-site education at your current LISA Academy school. If your student is enrolled at a LISA Academy school now, you do not need to take any action to continue with their current enrollment status.
  • Participate in virtual learning through your current LISA Academy campus. Your student’s school will contact you soon regarding your choice of onsite or virtual learning for NEXT SCHOOL YEAR ONLY.  This option is available due to the ongoing pandemic and is not considered a long-term choice.
  • Apply to enroll in the new LISA Academy Arkansas Hybrid School (K-12). Enrollment in this school is intended to be a long-term enrollment for future years.  To enroll in the hybrid school, students will need to apply and go through a lottery to be selected for the new school.
